It depends on each dog’s temperaments and the age at which they are introduced to each other. A puppy is socialized between four and twelve weeks of age. So, if two puppies are reared together from that time they usually get on well together.

When a young puppy is introduced into a home where an older dog is already in residence a problem can occur, but whether it does depends largely on the owner’s handling of the situation. The owner can avoid conflict by giving more affection to the resident and dominant dog, thereby confirming the hierarchy and stabilizing the relationship.

When an older dog is introduced into a home where another dog is already present the newcomer may not automatically accept the role of underdog, so that the order of dominance has then to be determined, usually with fights over territory, food and favorite toys. It may also be settled with a single fight or the power struggle may go on for some time before being resolved.

Introduction of a dog into a household where there is already a cat may result in behavioral problems on the part of the cat. But, if affection is lavished on the cat, and the two pets are fed quite separately they will in most instances gradually come to tolerate each other.

Among the several factors that causes dogs ear problems are; ear design that is some dogs have short ear, some have long pendulous ear, while others have thick hair in their ear. Second is the humid climate that encourages the growth of parasites, bacterial and yeasts. Next factor is the long exposure to other infected pets and lastly the dogs that can swim are prone to ear infections.

To keep your dog free form ear infections you need put your minimum effort that will surely avoid major ear problems.

1. Follow the instructions as recommended by your vets. If you get the slightest hint of bad odor then do ear cleaning with warm water, mineral oil, hydrogen peroxide, or a combination of equal parts of vinegar and rubbing alcohol but make sure that your dog does not have open sores that will have a burning sensation.

2. You are also recommended to apply pet ear care product that cleans and dry up excess moisture in the ear canal after bathing or swimming. Pet ear care product containing Tea Tree Oil will keep the ear canal of your dog dry and problem free.

3. There are also pet ear cares products available for routine ear cleaning that will dissolve wax, remove foreign debris and dry the ear canal. Even home dog care treatments are also available that can kill ear mites and ear ticks.

4. Even though your dog’s eardrum is better protected than a human beings, but the process of cleaning should be done with precise care especially when you are inserting cotton-tipped swabs into the ear canal. There is the possibility of the dirt and other foreign matter to get pushed deeper and even losing the cotton tip in the ear canal if not handled properly. Use a long cotton-tipped swab since a dog’s ear canal is much deeper than ours.

5.Using the same cotton ball or unclean tip of ear cleaning solution in another dog’s ears or even in a dog’s other ear will surely spread disease. Therefore always remember to use a new cotton ball or wipe clean any applicator tips.

6. Another method of cleaning involves filling the ear canal with a pet ear cleaning solution followed by gentle massage of the outer ear. After a few minutes the dog is allowed to shake his head to help clear the ear canal.

7. Removal of excess hair by trimming the hair.

Once you have built your pond and filled it with tap-water, the urge to put some fish in it can be enormous. Don’t. A new pond must settle down -six weeks is not an unrealistic time to wait -before introducing fish. During the first couple of weeks the fresh water in the pond will turn a browny-green colour, and become progressively cloudier as micro-organisms multiply. A variety of plants should be in place, including plenty of submerged oxygenators. These will help to absorb dissolved minerals, and of course provide oxygen to the water. The fish will be afforded some protection by these, and will also use them for green food. Floating and deep water plants provide the shade which is very welcome on hot summer days. By the sixth week the water should be clear.

It is worth remembering that most fish scavenge. They’ll nose around and disturb freshly planted aquatics, so it is important to allow the plants time to establish before the fish are introduced, and to cover the soil in the pots with a thick layer of gravel, otherwise the soil will be displaced, and the water will turn brown. Buying some fish from a garden centre, transporting them home, and then putting them in the pond, with no forethought about the environment they were in, and the one to which you are now subjecting them, can result in a high, if not total, mortality rate. So, to start with, it is essential to know just how many fish, and of what size, your pond can accommodate safely. Work this out before you start spending money

Fish make great and comparatively undemanding -pets for children on buying the fish. Of course, you may exceed the recommended quantity of fish under certain conditions if, for instance, you have a pond that is very deep, or you have installed an over-sized filtration system, but this is unlikely for a beginner to the hobby. The best time to stock a new pond, or add further fish to an existing complement, is in late spring or early summer when temperatures are fairly stable but, when buying fish you do take a bit of a gamble. No one can say with 100% conviction whether a fish is absolutely free of disease or parasites, regardless of how healthy it may look.

There is not one standard when it comes to breeding and raising parrots. However, most breeders follow these simple rules. The first concerns handling the baby parrot after it hatches. It is imperative to get nutritious food into the small hatchling right away. Some breeders feed the hatchlings by hand to insure the parrot ingests the proper nutrients. After the initial feeding the baby parrot must be weaned from that diet and introduced to solid food. For some birds this can be very traumatic and it is best to feed it a diet of fresh produce, warm soft food as well as acceptable seed. Usually a young bird won’t starve. It will eat when it becomes hungry. If you try to force it to eat it might become stressed and most breeders can tell if this is happening.

Another key element of breeding is to let the young bird spread it wings. This is very natural behavior for most birds-parrots or otherwise. You will find that the most experienced and humane breeders will not clip a baby parrots wings until it has mastered this natural skill. The reason is that birds that are allowed to learn the skill of flying seem to be better adjusted and socialized. Another words, they are better pets and show less negative personality traits. After your parrot has learned this skill it’s OK to clip the birds wings to prevent it from damaging your furniture.

A key development skill is taking a bath. In the wild most birds enjoy this simple pleasure. It is a hygienic matter for the young parrot and it can affect the emotional development of the bird. Visit your breeder’s aviary. It is a good way to get a feeling for how the breeder conducts the development process for their birds. Most breeders are proud of their facilities and welcome any questions potential clients have. It is worth it for the difference in cost to use a breeder. It’s a surefire way to guarantee that the history and background of your potential parrot purchase is readily available and that information is critical to a happy healthy and well-adjusted parrot.

Taking care of a pet is a big responsibility. When you bring a pet into your home, you become responsible for its food, shelter, health, and well-being. Unfortunately, despite this responsibility, many pet owners think of owning a pet as owning a toy. They don’t do their research to find out the food and exercise needs of their pet. Ignorance when it comes to pet care is a major problem. Another problem arises when pet owners with good intentions adopt a pet, only to tire of giving it constant care and slip into neglect. Unfortunately, these problems are too common.

When you invite a pet like a dog into your home, you are responsible for its care and comfort. That means you need to do research about the dog’s breed to find out what kind of food it eats and how often. You should also know what foods it can’t eat. You are also responsible for making sure the dog has the proper shots and immunizations. Having regular veterinary care is important. One of the most important and most neglected aspects of pet care is exercise. Most dogs need exercise on a daily basis, but many dogs don’t get it. Regular grooming is also important not only for the dogs looks, but for its health. Another problem arises when pet owners leave town. If there is no one to care for the dog, it should be boarded at trusted doggie daycare facility, preferably one that is cage-free and provides regular exercise. If you are thinking of becoming a dog owner, make sure you are ready for the responsibility.

Many people nowadays are aware of clothing their pets. Dogs, cats and ferrets dress up in clothes for walks or outings or even when at home. Ferrets in particular, deserve pampering. You can buy special ferrets clothes at stores or online. Better still, you could stitch clothes at home with little effort. Before you start, keep in mind that you are creating the dress for a furry animal with bouncy movements. Take care that the dress does not stop free movements of the ferret or otherwise he may start wrestling with it.

Try to be creative and stitch clothes that fit him well and look pleasing. You can work wonders with a small piece of attractive cloth and tailoring tools like needle, thread and a little creativity and some imagination. Equipped with these simple tools, and powered by your creativity and imagination, you can make an attractive dress for your cute pet. You need to start with measuring the dimension of the clothes you are going to stitch. Take care to keep the opening for the neck loose so that at least two of your fingers can move freely in it. Measure the size for the neck clearly around the base leaving it loose enough to let the neck have free movement. Now you are done with the neck measurement.

If you are thinking of covering the chest as well, measure the broadest part of the chest including the stomach. To measure your ferret’s length, size him up from the base of the neck up to the tail. These basic measurements are what you need to create ferrets clothes that will look cute and cuddly on your pet. These animals attract fleas and other insects that can irritate them. So it is important to have a few change of clothes. You need to keep the ferret clean with his clothes on. Wash these clothes and spray repellants on them to avoid contracting irritants for the pets.

Your dog is special to you. He might be your best friend, a rascally mischief-maker, or just an accessory to your lifestyle. He depends on you for feeding, play, and discipline. You depend on him for companionship, a connection with the animal world, or household security and protection. For these reasons and more, you should protect your dog from harm, and yourself from loss, by getting him a dog tag.

Dog tags hang on your dog’s collar and provide all the necessary information for calling your dog, contacting you as the owner, and alerting people to your dog’s dietary restrictions. Some dog tags also include vaccination information, such as when your dog last received shots, and some municipalities even require this.

Once you’ve settled on what information to put on your dog’s tag, it’s time to pick out a tag that suits your style and needs. If you’re just looking to tag your dog with basic information, a plain plastic tag will do. But if you want to add a personal touch, consider getting your dog a silver, jewel, gold, or diamond dog tag. Yes, they do exist. You can even have your dog tag customized and shaped exactly the way you want. Some dog tag manufacturers can even laser-etch a photograph onto the tag – perhaps a picture of you and your beloved pet.

Dog tags can range in price from free or just a few dollars, to diamond dog tags in excess of $7,500. Whatever your taste, there is a dog tag for your furry friend.

The best place for authentic military dog tags that you can personalize however you like. Dog tags at DogtagCity.com are preferred by more Green Army Men than all other leading brands combined. They use state of the art equipment to make your authentic military dog tags. These are some of the same machines in use around the world to make tags for their G.I.’s. They only use stainless steel dog tags and ball chains for their military dog tag sets.
If you are looking for a dog tag, this site might be of your interest. On DogtagCity.com you will find different dog tags in different colors.

The most common pet that you see in households are cats, dogs and birds. These are all domestic pets and have learned to adapt human life. Since they are easy to train, many individuals have preferred to take care of them rather than to take care of the exotic ones. Exotic pets are those pets that have lived in the wildlife and if you are planning to take care of one, extra precaution is advised the same as when planning to purchase rechargeable stun guns for self defense wherein the individual needs to take extra care and should be responsible with the handling of the device.

There are already some individuals who have chosen exotic animals as pets for their kids. There are instances wherein we are overjoyed with how exotic animals behave and give fun when we visit circuses, zoos and other animal shows that is why kids love to have them around as pets. But it really takes a lot of patience and determination in order for these types of animals to be trained and be understood by others. It takes a lot of responsibility and courage to take care of exotic pets because firstly, they are not able to adapt well on human life and they are used to living in the wildlife which have made them become fierce and dangerous.

As mentioned earlier, extra precaution is needed when caring for exotic animals such as tigers, lions and reptiles like snakes. These types of animals have more strength just like the strength of the strongest stun gun as compared to humans and they might attack you all of a sudden as you turn your back on them. They need a habitat that is just closely similar or related to that of what they have been used to. Placing them inside a cage will keep them away from creating harm and danger to your family and other people.

Their food is another problem that needs to be dealt with. Exotic animals have different food preferences as compared to domestic animals. Domestic animals are used to eating scrap and prepared food such as dog and cat food available in the market. On the other hand, exotic animals prefer to eat fresh meat and those which can be found in the wildlife. In general, keeping exotic animals at home requires a lot of responsibility, from the training all the way to giving them the right treatment. If you love exotic animals, just let them be free in the wild or perhaps let the experts on their care take the responsibility. They belong to the wild and they should be where they should be.
